The purpose of this site is to record the history of bowls in Israel from its very beginnings way back in 1953.
Included is a full set of records referring to performances of Israel's bowlers, individually or in selected teams.
Locally the records cover performances in annual national championships, covering all four disciplines of singles, pairs, trips and fours. To these, at later stage, are added additional singles competitions, a Masters tournament, mixed competitions and interclub leagues.
In the outside world arena, descriptive details with photographs and log tables are shown to cover the quadrennial world championships, the Maccabi games, Atlantic games and European games.
But for history in its fullest terms, full details must be recorded of ex-South African Max Spitz's sole efforts in introducing the game to Israel, and his saga is fully covered in the history section of the site.
The subject matter of this site is infinite. Events of today are history tomorrow. We aim to keep the site "up to date" with history, and hope that the recording of future events and results will find an enthusiast who will keep the site alive.
I hope the site provides pleasure to many of our bowlers,
Sincerely ,
Norman Spiro
